RoboMaster is a robotics competition on projectile combat. Robots fire projectiles and attempt to hit pressure sensors installed on the opponent's robots & structures.Â
The robots have classes that differentiate their abilities & limitations. Depending on its class, a robot may be able to fire larger projectiles that does more damage, or smaller projectiles at a higher rate.
Every class of robot (except the sentry) may have up to 1 driver. Drivers see the field from a camera on the robot and control the robots similar to a traditional first person shooter game.
We use SolidWorks, an industry standard designing software, to design of our competing robots. Team members learn about advanced features, functions & mates while also reinforcing their learnings on basic operations of the software.
All of our robots run on the STM32 platform, which takes care of CAN bus communication, PID calculations, IMU & magnometer interfacing, DBUS wireless reciever interfacing and many more tasks cocurrently via the use of FreeRTOS.
